A Fresh Look at America on Our 250th Anniversary

By Published On: June 28, 2026

Social media is abuzz! FIFA visitors are discovering an America that is very different from the one portrayed by their national media. They are posting their excited and hilarious responses to Buc-ee’s, Waffle House, Texas BBQ, Costco, and Walmart. They are mesmerized by our welcoming and friendly people, the warmth of our hearts, the size of our vehicles, and the vastness of our nation.

Our visitors are impressed by our patriotism, love for our country, the prolific display of our flags, and the beloved fly-overs before the games. These people are passionately singing OUR national anthem!

To their surprise, we are not the gun-toting, arrogant, unsophisticated country bumpkins they were told by their media. Many say they wish their countries were more like ours.

Two Different Worldviews

What these FIFA visitors are really seeing is the difference in two worldviews. One is the American worldview, that the government exists to serve the people.  The other, is the worldview of the monarchies, dictatorships, and globalists, where the people’s role is to serve the government.

God Given Rights

America was founded on the belief that every person has God-given rights that cannot be taken away by the government.  Among these are the “right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”. In America, the people are citizens, not subjects. This is a bottom-up, grassroots ideology.

Emperors, Kings,  and Warlords

Other worldviews have a history of emperors, kings, and war lords, where the people were subjects, not citizens. Individual rights, if any, were granted by the ruler, or today, by an elite few. The people of these nations may be called “citizens” and may be able to vote, but they are treated like subjects.

This is a top-down ideology. Leaders espouse open borders, limited speech, strict regulation of enterprise, and most importantly, they tell their people what to think and how to act.

The Few Rule Over the Many

Prior to the formation of the United States, the long history of humankind is that the few have ruled over the many. The United States is the world’s oldest and most successful “experiment” to see if “government of the people, by the people, and for the people, can long endure”.

Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday

What the FIFA visitors are seeing is the difference between these two world-views. They are seeing it displayed in stark contrast to what they have been told. They realize that they were deceived. They see the difference and the value of the foundation of our country, where the government is the servant of the people.

So, as we celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday, let us see our country afresh, through their eyes, on this momentous occasion!
